Covid-19 Vaccination Outreach Video

Sydney Multicultural Community Services has been hard at work communicating the Department of Health’s Covid-19 safety messages to culturally and linguistically diverse members of our community. The lockdowns and associated experiences of isolation have been stressful and challenging for all of us. Higher Vaccination rates reduces the need for preventive measures such as lockdowns, travel restrictions and border closures. By vaccinating, you are protecting yourself and others from severe COVID-19. This is particularly important to protect people at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19, such as healthcare providers, older or elderly adults, and people with other medical conditions.

We have been contacting many people in the community to make sure they are ok and to provide help in booking their Covid-19 vaccination. We have created Covid-19 vaccination outreach videos in various languages (Tibetan, Arabic, Mongolian, Mandarin, Indonesian, Wolof, Bangla, Nepali, Farsi, Kinyarwanda Kirundi, Assyrian and English). Our message in this videos are simple, yet powerful. “Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself and your community. I’ve got my jab, have you?”

We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who contributed to this project, including Matt Thistlethwaite MP who has been a pillar of support for SMCS for many years. Thank you and please share the video.
