babyturtlesIf you want to help to prevent the loss of biodiversity in and around Sydney, participate in local conservation projects, learn about conservation via seminars or discuss conservation policy and meet like-minded people, come and join us.

Membership with Sydney Society for Conservation biology is FREE! All you need to do is sign up to our newsletter at one of our events, send us an email at or fill out the form at the end of this page!

If you would like to become more involved in the running of the society you can opt to become a voting member. This is also free, but allows you to have a say in events and the direction of the society.

Due to our affiliation with the global Society for Conservation Biology (SCB), we are able to offer our members perks in terms of funding to SCB conferences etc. However, if you would like to be eligible for supported funding to conferences you must be a member of the global Society for Conservation Biology. Membership in the global society also gives you access to an exclusive jobs board run through their website. To become a member of the (global) Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) simply go to their website and select your membership option.

  • Student membership: $ 20 (USD)/year.
  • Professional membership: $ 80 (USD)/year
  • Once you are a member with SCB, sign into the SCB membership page with your new username and password at the top of the page (“Member Login”) and then select “Sydney Chapter” under the category “My Society Involvement: Chapter Association(s)”.
