Another successful Senior Multicultural Carnivale!
We’re thrilled to share more wonderful memories from our Multicultural Senior Carnivale held on 13th March. Seeing all those smiling faces truly warms our hearts! It was a joyous occasion where we had the pleasure of entertaining and caring for our beloved elderly clients.
At Sydney Multicultural Community Services, we take pride in hosting this annual event, as it allows us to remind our seniors just how valued and appreciated they are in our community. None of this would be possible without the generous support of Randwick City Council, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.
We were honored to have esteemed guests join us for the celebration, including The Hon Matt Thistlethwaite MP, Cr Philipa Veitch from Randwick City Council, and Councillor Christina Curry representing Mayor Councillor Bill Saravinovski from Bayside Council. Their presence added to the warmth and spirit of the day.
For those interested, we offer a range of services tailored to seniors, including Aged Care, Home Care Packages, Social Support Groups, Brokerage Services, and Centre Based Respite Care. If you or a loved one could benefit from our services, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 02 9663 3922 or via email at info@sydneymcs.org.au. We’re here to help!

]]>About The Book:
Multicultural Arc describes and analyses a half-century of multicultural action and policy in Australia, as the country changed from being 99.5% European to one of the most diverse societies in the world. Through examinations of the changes introduced by successive governments, readers follow the twists and turns of ideology and popular attitudes. From the “invention” of Australian multiculturalism through to attacks on its very existence, the affirmation of Australia’s multicultural future now depends on addressing systemic racism and continuing inequalities. Five key themes include the place of First Nations in a multicultural society, the problems of racism, the challenges of communication and representation, the shredding of research capacity, and the creation of best fit institutions. Key words for the future are recognition, research and representation. Multicultural Arc is published by Sydney Multicultural Community Services.
