Sydney Multicultural Community Services is urgently seeking a Greek Speaking Aged Care Worker in Southern Sydney. Preferably in Sylvania. Own Vehicle is a must. The Aged Care Worker will provide support services to an elderly person in her own home.

Our ideal candidate will have a positive and cheerful personality, be caring, friendly and compassionate and be able to work with older people to assist them in living as independently as possible. The position will be casual and the number of hours available for each care worker will depend on the demand for the service.

Pay Level as per the SCHADS Award and according to experience and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL: • Ability to speak Greek • Ability to work with CALD frail aged community members • Experience or ability to perform care work duties • Driver’s License, car and comprehensive car insurance • Current Police and Working with Children Check • First Aid Certificate • Must have two doses of Covid-19 vaccine

About us

Sydney Multicultural Community Services (Sydney MCS) is a not for profit organisation with Head office based in Daceyville. Our organisation specialises in providing services such as settlement engagement and transition support, social support groups, CVS volunteers, quality Aged Care and Disability in the Eastern Suburbs, Sydney City and Inner West areas. 

About the Role

The Multicultural Generalist Case Worker (CALD) will be providing much needed support to migrants who aren’t eligible to access to services and to assist all in our community including seniors and families to improve well-being and their quality of life. The service provisions will include but not limited to providing information and referral services and advocacy. The right candidate will receive a generous Level 4, Point 1 according to the SCHADS Industry Award.

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications within relevant human services field such as Social Work or a related discipline
  • Ability to work with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD)
  • A Current Police check clearance certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
  • A current NSW Working with Children’s check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Must have Driver License and access to a car
  • Previous experience in a similar role or in any position related to Case Work
  • Ability to speak more than one language

Sydney Multicultural Community Services requires a qualified bus driver for casual work with our Frail Aged Day Care program. Transport for frail aged and dementia clients to and from the centre is provided by the program with Sydney MCS’s buses that are wheelchair accessible.

Essentials:

* First Aid Accreditation
* Experience in driving a bus
* A current Police Check (National Police
Certificate)
* A Current heavy vehicle driver’s license
* Right to work in Australia


Fluency in a community language will be highly regarded. Work will be based in Eastern Sydney.
